What My Soul Found on High Street…
Welcome to my home…
be more than just a business.
Any Christian out there ever get mixed up in your head? Have doubts? Get lost in all the opinions?
What does God really want? How does He want us to live?
It seems every corner you turn, someone has a strong opinion on this, and it’s always different from the next.
What music is okay to listen to? What shows to watch? Tattoos or no? Drinking or no? How should you dress?
And we care, don’t we? Because if you’re like me, you just want to know what pleases your King. The deepest, truest part of you wants to know what He wants.
And if these people are also seeking Him, then shouldn’t I weigh their wisdom too? Give ear to what they have to say? Yet no one seems to have the same opinion on what it’s supposed to look like. Even at the top levels of scholarly theology. It’s easy to get swallowed up by the noise.
“Wait, Jaclyn... I thought you were a copywriter. What does this have to do with anything?”
Everything.
The very reason I write copy is to connect with people. And to connect with people, we need to talk about real things.
Ever known what it’s like to not be able to find peace because the questions are too many? Because the doubts in your mind just rage?
Maybe…all you want to do is simply find the Lord.
At one point in my life as a church leader, I couldn’t sort it all out. I was living glued under a mod podge, stuck in a collage of beliefs. I couldn’t figure out how to live, how to please God. Eventually, inwardly, I gave up trying.
Walking down High Street in the little town where I live, Cory Asbury playing through my earbuds, a thought whispered. One I didn’t try to think up. One that caught me off guard. My eyes instantly swelled. It was so captivating, it instantly dispelled every bit of questioning.
It was simple. I love you.
I knew who was speaking. His presence was unmistakable.
I combatted that “I love you” in disbelief. How could You possibly be pleased with me when I don’t even understand an ounce of what it looks like to do that? But His presence stayed. He repeated it again. I love you.
Until His love for me was known again to my core.
His love. His presence. His unmistakable whisper… became the antidote to all my questioning.
I’ve learned. That’s all I need. My heart desires Him. And it’s as simple as that. He wants to be with me, and I want to be with Him. Yes, I’ll always keep seeking, listening to wisdom around me, asking God to search my heart. But all I really need are those moments when He says, I love you.
Everything becomes clear.
It’s Him. The real Him. Not a Christianese phrase. Not a poised heart. But encountering Him for real.
And I’ve won. The one thing my heart needs, the one thing my heart was created for, I have.
Maybe you’re questioning. Maybe you’re lost in the noise of opinions. Maybe you’re struggling to find God again, wondering if you’re loved. Reach out to me. I’m much more than just a copywriter. I’ve walked through a lot.
You know, it’s these kinds of posts…
The ones shot straight from the heart.
The ones where I let my fingers loose and say what’s real.
The posts that leave me with an emotional hangover.
The ones that cost me something.
The ones where I become vulnerable…
Analytics show those are the ones people open. They linger there. They read all the way through. And I get why.
Sure, we need to talk about the pillars of magnetic marketing for your business.
Sure, we need to talk about strategy.
Yeah, we need to talk about the advancements of AI.
But we’re also humans. Deeply feeling. Deeply searching. Deeply wondering about the real things that make us who we are.
At some point, we can’t just be a business. We have to meet real human need.
That’s what I do. I write copy that sells, but also words that stir something deeper. Because that’s what people remember. Real stories. Real connection. Real hope.
Let’s be honest writers. Let’s be more than a business. Let’s be one that connects people.
Marketing is about people, and people are real.
Christian or not, I care about people, I love storytelling, and my math brain researches the analytics. This beautiful combination is the recipe for a great copywriter.
Want sales? Want clients?
